Wolin Works to Address Students’ Basic Needs

Jessica Wolin and colleagues are doing tremendous work to address student basic needs across the CSU. The RISE Framework (Re-Imagine the Student Experience) shifts the paradigm from basic needs insecurity as an individual student problem and considers the intertwining contextual factors and strategies needed to improve student outcomes.

She is also presenting the RISE Framework at a couple key events (Real College CA Basic Needs Summit and the California Higher Education Basic Needs Alliance 2024 Summit) coming up, helping to raise awareness among key stakeholders about the importance of addressing students’ basic needs in order to promote their success.
