Ruvani Fonseka

Ruvani Fonseka is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health. She conducts mixed methods research on gender-based violence prevention and response in diverse communities ranging from the San Francisco Bay Area in California to post-conflict Sri Lanka. She completed a bachelor's degree in History and Science with a certificate in Public Health at Harvard, MSW in Management and Planning and MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics at UC Berkeley, and Ph.D. at the UC San Diego/San Diego State Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health. She has worked to advance gender equity and health in many different settings including communities in Asia, Africa and North America.
