Cathy Rath
Cathy Rath became an adjunct professor in 2010, where she taught Health in Society and Women’s Health. Between 2013-2015, she also taught Women’s Health to graduate students in SFSU’s Post Baccalaureate health promotions program. Cathy added Community Organizing in Community Health in 2015. A writing coach and tutor, she also provides copyediting to CSUs across the state. An SFSU alumnus, Cathy’s thesis in HED 221 program evaluation was published by the American Public Health Association. Through her social justice advocacy, she led public health campaigns at Transforming Communities, where her violence prevention approach was published by the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence. She received the 2000 Millennium Leadership Award from the Marin Independent Journal for her accomplishments. Her novel, Ripple Effect, was published in January '21. Her next book follows the courageous journey of a retired female Police Chief who broke gender barriers to earning the top post in law enforcement.
