SoEPI: Social, Environmental and Policy Influences on Health Equity Research
Welcome to the Social, Environmental and Policy Influences on Health Equity Research (SoEPI) Lab
At SoEPI Lab, our mission is to generate rigorous research that can inform program and policy decisions aimed at improving the health of the public and reaching health equity across socio-demographically diverse populations.
Our group contributes to this mission by:
- Carrying out methodologically sound research focused on several interrelated strands: social determinants of health; environments and places, and policies and interventions, along with their potential impacts on health inequities and the social determinants of health.
- Partnering with organizations, universities and communities to conduct and enhance our research, including creative uses of existing data and methods and research translation.
- Increasing access to and informing others about our research results, making them available to a wide range of audiences including program and policymakers, the media, and the public.
- Engaging and mentoring new undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral and junior investigators in prevention science and health equity research.
