Nancy Barba

Research Technician

Biography

Nancy earned a Master’s of Public Health from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science with a minor in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Ms. Barba has experience working in educational institutions as a coordinator in the Contra Costa Community College, building and implementing programing to support students to further their education in STEM. Nancy has worked with non-profits that focus on promoting health and wellness in Richmond, California. Through her community involvement, Nancy developed a strong interest in research on health disparities among low-income and communities of color, as well as interventions that promote access to equitable resources, health care and support for marginalized communities. Nancy began her tenure in the SoEPI lab as a graduate student research assistant, subsequently joining the research team full time.
