Mary Beth Love
Biography:
Mary Beth Love, Ph.D., is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Metro College Success Program (Metro) and a professor of Public Health at San Francisco State University. She received her doctoral degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987. Dr. Love served as Chair of the Public Health program from 1988 to 2019. She has successfully incubated, implemented, and institutionalized numerous curricular innovations in her 25 years in higher education. Dr. Love working with colleagues, raised over thirty-seven million dollars in grant support from more than 31 national funders to support efforts to improve community health and close the equity gap in student achievement at the University. She and her team have won numerous local, state, and national awards recognizing their work and the resulting innovations in Higher Education.
