
Jessica Wolin
Jessica Wolin, MPH, MCRP, is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Public Health at San Francisco State University. She has 30 years of experience working with higher education institutions, community organizations and local government to develop, implement and evaluate health and wellness strategies, place-based initiatives, and systems change efforts. Prior to joining the faculty at SFSU, Jessica served in leadership and consulting roles at the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the Alameda County Public Health Department. She also held leadership positions at several local non-profit public health organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the co-founder of the Women's Community Clinic which for over a decade was the only free clinic for women in San Francisco.
Jessica served as the Associate Director for Community Practice, Health Equity Institute at SFSU between 2007-2018. In this capacity, she facilitated high profile campus-community partnerships including with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office’s HOPE SF initiative and the UCSF Preterm Birth Initiative. Currently, she is Faculty Lead for Research and Impact at the Center for Equitable Higher Education (CEHE) based at CSU Long Beach and focuses on the issue of basic needs challenges facing California college students. Jessica’s work is guided by a commitment to Research Justice and the principle that research should promote community self-determination.
