Along with teaching PH 430, I’m in my 11th year of K-12 teaching in Oakland Unified School District where I’ve taught courses in public health, biology, chemistry, physics, and humanities. Prior to teaching, I completed my bachelor’s degree at Scripps College in Biology & Religious Studies, worked in community HIV/AIDS education in eSwatini (formerly known as Swaziland) with the Peace Corps, and ended up in the Bay Area for grad school where I studied Ethics and Social Theory. I took a brief foray to NYC where I completed a MPH in Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health.
