She teaches undergraduate core sequenced courses, specifically HED 400: Introduction to the Health Education Professions and HED 431: Program Planning Implementation, and Evaluation. She is particularly interested strengthening in the integration of general education skills across the curriculum and within the discipline of HED. She would describe her pedagogy as student-centered and experiential, focusing on the learner. She is a member of the HED Undergraduate Subcommittee and the SFSU Graduation Written Assessment Requirement (GWAR) Committee. Ms. Quijano’s fifteen years in the field has been focused on program planning and evaluation for non-profits, particularly those that address issues of equity and social justice—welfare, youth leadership, and teen pregnancy. She currently serves as a leadership coach for young executive directors leading local non-profits, an evaluation consultant for city sponsored programs, and curriculum developer for a national student success organization.
