"As a highlight of her sabbatical, Associate Professor of Health Education Vivian Chavez delivered a keynote presentation at the Conference for the Society for Humanistic Psychology, held March 22-25 at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Her talk was titled “Artfully Exploring Cultural Humility with Theater of the Oppressed and the Life/Art Process.” Cultural humility is a process of personal and communal reflection to analyze the root causes of suffering and create a broader, more inclusive view of the world. Theater of the Oppressed is a form of popular education that fosters cooperative forms of interaction among participants."
