Sanchez-Vaznaugh invited to discuss food environments near schools
"Associate Professor of Health Education Emma Sanchez-Vaznaugh was invited to present at the California Department of Education’s GIS Day conference, Going Beyond Awareness: Using Spatial Analysis to Solve Real World Problems. The conference was about the many fascinating ways GIS is being applied in education, industry, health and beyond. Her presentation was titled, “Learning and health: Using GIS to examine the role of food environments near schools.”
She was also invited to present at the Urban Health Institute at Charles Drew University School of Medicine in Los Angeles, where she discussed her research on 'Social and Environmental Determinants of Child Obesity: The role of fast food environments near schools.'"
