Gretchen George, assistant professor in the Family Interiors Nutrition & Apparel Department, and Jessica Wolin, lecturer in Health Education and associate director for community engagement for Health Equity Institute, represented SF State at the first meeting of the California State University Basic Needs Research Consortium. The meeting was held June 3-4 in Long Beach at the CSU Chancellor’s Office. George and Wolin met with researchers from other CSU campuses and leaders of the CSU Basic Needs Initiative to discuss how to advance research that informs strategies and policy to address student food and housing insecurity. The consortium will continue to meet in coming months and develop collaboration on basic needs research across CSU campuses.
