Chavez Presents on Tamalpa Life/Art Process to Teach Public Health

"Associate Professor of Health Education Vivian Chavez presented at the 10^thAnnual Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education Conference, Imagining Humane Institutions: Connection, Social Action, and Scholarship Rooted in Contemplative Practices. The meeting was held October 5-7 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Chavez’s workshop was titled, “Tamalpa Life/Art Process to Teach Public Health at San Francisco State University.” Learning outcomes were (1) to discuss movement-based expressive arts to teach health to multicultural, multilingual, digital students; and (2) to identify the Tamalpa Life/Art Process as a tool to address issues of access, including geographic, cultural and national boundaries."
